Terms of Use

By using ScanTerms, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or service.

1. Service Description

ScanTerms is an AI-assisted contract reading tool. It helps users upload or enter contract text, identify clauses that may require attention, view source evidence, copy suggested negotiation points, save history, and export reports where available.

2. Not Legal Advice

ScanTerms is provided for informational purposes only. We are not a law firm, do not provide legal advice, do not represent you, and do not create an attorney-client relationship. AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or not suitable for your jurisdiction or situation. You are responsible for reviewing contracts and consulting a qualified professional before making legal, financial, employment, housing, or business decisions.

3. Your Responsibilities

• Only upload or submit documents that you have the right and authority to process.
• Do not submit illegal content, content that violates another party's rights, or content you are prohibited from sharing.
• Do not rely on ScanTerms as the sole basis for signing, rejecting, negotiating, or disputing a contract.
• Keep your device, Apple ID, and app access secure.

4. Free Scans, Subscriptions, and Scan Packs

ScanTerms may offer a limited number of free scans. Paid access is available through Apple in-app purchases.

• Monthly Pro: $9.99, 50 full contract scans per monthly subscription period, plus Pro features shown in the app.
• Yearly Pro: $49.99, 800 full contract scans per yearly subscription period, plus Pro features shown in the app.
• 5-Scan Pack: $3.99 one-time consumable purchase that adds 5 scan credits.
• Actual prices may vary by country or region and will be displayed by Apple before purchase.
• Unused subscription scan allowance does not roll over unless explicitly stated in the app.
• Scan-pack credits are consumable credits. They are intended for the Apple ID/account/device entitlement state verified through the app and our backend.

5. Auto-Renewable Subscription Terms

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, according to Apple's App Store rules. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refund requests are handled by Apple. We cannot issue App Store refunds on Apple's behalf.

6. Pro Features

Pro features may include deeper AI risk analysis, multilingual contract support, full report history, source evidence, copyable negotiation suggestions, and PDF export. Features may evolve over time as long as the core purchased entitlement remains reasonably available.

7. AI and Accuracy

AI analysis is probabilistic and may misread text, fail to detect a clause, overstate or understate risk, or be affected by OCR quality, document length, language, missing pages, local law, or unusual contract drafting. Risk labels and scores are aids for review, not guarantees.

8. Availability and Limits

We may impose technical limits on file size, document length, usage, request frequency, and unsupported content. The service may be unavailable due to maintenance, network issues, App Store verification issues, AI provider outages, or other events outside our control.

9. Privacy

Your use of ScanTerms is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how contract content, AI processing, purchase verification, quota, and support data are handled.

10. Intellectual Property

ScanTerms, including its software, design, branding, and service content, is owned by us or our licensors. You retain rights to documents you submit, subject to the limited processing needed to provide the service.

11. Prohibited Use

• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, overload, scrape, bypass quotas, abuse promotional/free scans, or interfere with the service.
• Do not use the service to process documents in a way that violates law, privacy rights, confidentiality duties, or third-party rights.
• Do not resell or provide ScanTerms reports as professional legal services.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScanTerms is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for decisions you make based on AI reports, missed risks, inaccurate outputs, contract disputes, legal outcomes, lost profits, indirect damages, or unavailable service, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
